CIFO Introduces its Contemporary Art Talk Series
Miami, Fla. – September – October 2013 – The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) introduces four lectures for their Contemporary Art Talk Series to be held on September 26th, October 2nd, 5th and 10th at the CIFO Art Space in downtown Miami from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This lecture series is suitable for all audiences, from art professionals to hobbyists and beginners. Tickets for each individual lecture are $65.00 or $200.00 for all four lectures in the Contemporary Art Talk. For every ticket $200.00 ticket sold for the complete lecture series, CIFO will sponsor a student from the New World School of the Arts to attend the Contemporary Art Talk Series. The lecture fees include all the required materials as well as refreshments.
The lectures will be given by distinguished art professionals, experts in the subjects to be presented. Please see the titles and dates below:

About the Presenters
Roc Laseca is a musicologist and semiotician with a PhD in Art Theory and Cultural Prospective from University of La Laguna. He has developed curatorial programs for institutions and museums in Europe, Latin America and the United States. Laseca’s latest curatorial projects in Miami are “Bill Viola: Liber Insularum”, presented at MOCA North Miami.
Bonnie Clearwater, the new Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale and the former Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami. Clearwater is also recognized for her writing as an art historian having published various titles such as “The Rothko Book: Tate Essential Artist Series” and “Julian Schnabel: Versions of Chuck”.
Deborah Cullen is the Director and Chief Curator at Columbia University’s Wallach Art Gallery. Cullen is previously the Director of Curatorial Programs at El Museo del Barrio, one of New York’s top cultural institutions with a focus on art from Latin America and the Caribbean with an emphasis on Puerto Rican art.
Elizabeth Cerejido is an independent curator and scholar from Miami who specializes in modern and contemporary Latin American and Latino art and photography, with a focus in Cuban visual culture, cultural politics and identity. She has previously worked as Assistant Curator of Latin American and Latino Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston as well as Curator of the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at FIU.
