Yoshua Okón

Yoshua Okón is an artist based in Mexico City. He has also been involved with various projects with artists of his generation. He is the Founding Director of SOMA, an independent studies art school in Mexico City and was a co-founder of La Panadería, an artist-run alternative space in the 1990s. Okón’s work is included in the Ella Cisneros Fontanals Collection and in the collections of Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, Hammer Museum, LACMA, Colección Jumex and MUAC, among others. His recent solo exhibitions include: Saló Island, UCI Contemporary Arts Center Gallery (Irvine, 2014); Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service, Hayward Gallery (London, 2012); Piovra, Kaufmann Repetto (Milan, 2011); Octopus, Hammer Museum (Los Angeles, 2011).
