Taiyana Pimentel

Taiyana Pimentel holds a BA in Art History from the Universidad de la Habana, 1990. She later completed an MA in Art History at the UNAM (Mexico). She now lives in Mexico City, where she works as the director of the Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros-La Tallera. Among her last exhibitions are the following: No Lone Zone-The Redeeming Institution, a collaboration between SAPS and Tate Modern, London-Mexico City (2012); Check Point / Punto de Control, Colectivo marcelaygina, Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico (2010); Investiduras institucionales, Col. Tercerunquinto, Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico (2008); Proyecto para Ecatepec (Herida), Teresa Margolles, Fundación Colección Jumex, Mexico (2007); 1549 crímenes de estado, Santiago Sierra, Centro Cultural Tlatelolco, Mexico (2007); Bridge, Francis Alÿs, Habana-Key West (2006) with Cuauhtémoc Medina. From 1999 to 2001 she worked as curator for the Museo Rufino Tamayo, with exhibitions like Sala 7. Proyectos Contemporáneos. She was designated as the curator for Plataforma 2012. She is the director of the Sala de Arte Público David Alfaro Siqueiros/ La Tallera.
